Testimony of the Ancients

The original idea I had for this was a more organic scene. The centre well would have been a rotted out tree housed within this ancient tower of stone. and the 'Centralobe' (as i have called it ) would have been a sphere made of twisted roots with holes. In the holes were some kind of creeping life. I did some sketches of this. But then i saw in a magazine a photo of an Astrolabe,  and i just thought it would make a great central object over the initial idea.
